EDUCATIONAL GOALS

This is our Kinder-Prep class. This is where we round off the pre-school edge so children fit into the elementary world. At this time they will learn the art of cooperation with their peers, teachers and adults, and are expected to follow directions and maintain classroom organization. The children will use computers as an active tool for learning in all developmental areas. Communication skills are improved through numerous activities such as literature, story writing, story telling, songs, reading readiness and writing activities. Children will also master number and letter recognition and concept. Strong emphasis will also be on language arts which includes phonics, sight words and extensive writing activities. Through science, both social and experimental, children will experience and understand how the world works around them. Math skills will be obtained through graphs, counting, patterns, addition and subtraction. Both large and fine motor skills are developed through various activities.
